Fastest way to lose weight, part 5

In previous posting in the fastest way to lose weight series we have looked upon loosing finding our current situation; imagining an inspirational future where we are healthy; setting goals for eating more healthy and exercising.

All these things are good; and will help you lose some weight rapidly; but you should also have some days to offer yourself a treat. It could be either one or two days a week; these days will still contain eating healthy fruits and vegetables, but you can also do something more. I prefer those days to be Friday and Saturday. Actually I prefer not exercising Saturdays either. Only spending the Saturdays relaxing and letting my body rest. And when I say we can treat our selves some extra specials it doesn’t imply that you could eat a lots of chocolate and potato chips; only some. And if you choose to have a special dinner it should be home made. Of course you might get something from a restaurant; but you should steer away from fat burgers etc. Instead making something homemade like tacos, pizza, and homemade burgers (maybe even vegetables inside the burger; onions and other vegetables inside the meat give much better tastes).

The point I am trying to make is that you should offer yourself some of the old habits you had; just in a limited amount on few days a week. And using homemade food instead of prefabricated is also much healthier than all the additional chemicals they add to the food. You should also create a habit of drinking water instead of cola etc. I am aware there are light versions of what you drink; but they also contain chemicals that give sweet taste; and are unhealthier than sugar. So please; do not make excuses like; I only eat and drink light versions; they contain less sugar. But those sugars are replaced by other sweating methods that might be a lot more dangerous than pure sugar; the best option for a healthy body is to drink water when thirsty; or fruit juice and milk of course which provides minerals and vitamins for the body. You might of course have some cola or other drinks on those special days you relax and enjoy life; but in limited amount.
What you should have in mind when deciding to lose weight is to create a plan that actually works; something you really want. Do not create something unrealistic not giving you joy and fun in the progress. You should find joy in improving and educating yourself as a human being.

Fastest way to lose weight, part 4

In my previous posting I talked about creating healthy and realistic goals; to learn to enjoy eating vegetables and fruits as snack and small meals. Today we are going to look at something most people fear; or do wrong: exercising. Yes; you got it right; many are exercising the wrong way. They have decided to practice for maybe 30 minutes to one hour each week. When they practice they often attend to social exercising. By social exercising I mean exercises that are less efficient and less good to achieve weight loss.

They are partly right; they should start exercising some days each week; but they shouldn’t just be at the gym, and not being really exercised. I am currently working on practicing on a 5k training program. This program demands that I focus on one goal; to improve my health conditions and gradually improve my timing. I do not have a goal to become the fastest person on 5k; I have no goal to practice to just do something. I have a concrete goal; to run 5k, and improve my current position. It’s practically going from the sofa to being somehow good at running 5. I don’t start with more than 3 exercises each week; and I don’t include more advanced methods for the first weeks. For a starter I even allow myself to walk a bit; since it’s really hard; the feet are heavy and I often taste blood in my mouth. Even thought I feel pain while exercising it also feel good. It feels good to be able to run/walk and doing something for my health.

If you really want to practice and lose weight you should set specific goals within an activity. It could be running, biking, rowing or whatever. But you should have a goal with your practice; to achieve something. You really don’t exercise well if you spend most of your time talking your friends while practicing. The correct way would be to set concrete goals and improvements within what you want to do. In the beginning you will experience a lot of improvement; these improvements will be significant less as time passes. You will reach a point it takes time to get pass. These times give less hope. It’s really hard doing something when you don’t feel improvement; the right thing to do is to maintain your current level; and include changes to your program. If running is the example you would include run hilling and other exercises giving more methods to improve upon.

Fastest way to lose weight, part 3

In our previous posting in this series we talked about how it is important to keep some of our previous habits; but still get control over our lives in order to permanently having low weight.

As we talked previously; to really get a life we want we have to understand current situation; we have to visualize a future inspiring us and giving hope. To achieve our imaginary future vision we you have to learn setting goals. This is the ultimate secret to get the life you desire; to set realistic and inspirational goals. It is no use setting unrealistic goals; like “I want to lose 10 kilos in 1 week”; you would only get disappointed that you weren’t able to reach your goal; and most likely lose any inspiration to change your life permanently. We need more far more realistic goals than this; the first step could be “I want to learn to eat many, and healthy meals each day”, and setting a spam of maybe 2 months to reach it.

During this period you will have a lot of daily goals; learning what fruits and vegetables you like. Learn to cook healthy food with more vegetables and less meat. And this should give you motivation and joy as well; experiencing and educating yourself. You will especially have fun if you try and learn with your friends. I admit this myself; I hate cooking myself; I hate making lots of thing as alone. It’s much more fun cooking and eating with others. However; I enjoy learning to enjoy snack myself. Small, sweet mini carrots are great snack to sit eating while researching and writing. Also grapes are sweet and tasty. And there are various more vegetables and fruits you can enjoy as snacks while eating. However; it’s worth mentioning to not eat it too much; you don’t want to get tired of these habits and desire chocolate or other unhealthy food again. Neither is anything healthy if you eat too much of it. Everything should be limited in how much you eat and how often you eat it.

Also apple and other fruits are great to learn to eat small amounts of as meal. The true secret is to learning to eat fruits and vegetables you like, and enjoy it while eating it. There is no benefit of forcing yourself to eat something. There is no point replacing habits you don’t want and desire a unhealthy life again. Every small goal should be realistic and joyful.
